Otaku Alert! Cosplay Mania 2012
11:38 AM
Two months after our official foray into the cosplay world, here we are again continuing our passion for the hobby at Cosplay Mania 2012! ヾ( ^ω^)ノ
A week has passed since the most anticipated cosplay event of the year. It's a two-day gathering quite on the huge scale. So many booths showcased their merch, a lot of activities went on in the stage area, throngs of people (coser and non-coser alike) abounded. I also heard that a lot of people arrived from different far places just for the event, including their international cosplayer guests KANAME☆, REIKA, and Jesuke! d(=^‥^=)b As for the venue, I think SMX Convention Center is the perfect place for this kind of event as it's pretty spacious, the halls and the lobby, unlike the others... *cough*Oh-No! Manga*cough*
Okay, 'nuff said... There were 3 types of tickets: Hall Pass (Php150) which granted access to the Dealers Area only, Full Access Pass (Php250) which allowed access to both the Dealer's Hall and the Main Stage, and the Premium Pass (Php500 - limited) which granted full access as well as a meet-and-greet with either Kaname or Reika. We were gunning for the Premium Pass, as I really am dying to see Kaname! (●⌒∇⌒●) わーい Like, ever since I saw his near-perfect Cloud Strife cosplay, I became his fan and that's when I found out a lot more of his incredible, jaw-dropping, praiseworthy cosplays. Alright, I'll stop fangirling. For now. Ohoho~ (○゚ε^○)v
So, I even told my friends "kahit ilibre ko pa kayong lahat!" (even if I have to shoulder all your tickets), as long as we get the Premium Pass. BUT. Apparently, all of them got sold out in mere hours after the release. DAFUQ! 。°(°´д`°)°。 In the end, we had to settle for the Full Access, and decided to go there on the first day (29-Sept). After learning that Kaname will have his stage performance that day. Eheheh~ (Seriously, I think I have to stop acting mad like that... But I can't!)
So, did I get my chance to see him? The answer is a sad No. (T^T) We arrived at the venue around 3:30pm, 'cause you know three girls cosplaying (BTW, we did Vampire Knight here) will really take a lot of time preparing... Upon entering, we didn't waste time and began looking around, taking photos of ourselves (eheheh) and the other cosplayers, checking out the booths and buying stuff. Only after all that we headed for the stage area and asked one of the assistants what time Kaname will perform. We arrived just in time for the solo cosplay competition and only to find out that he already went on stage. Sad. Really sad. ( ノω-、) Oh well, there's definitely a next time. Bwaahahahaaa!
We just decided to head out for a bit and grab a bite since we hadn't had a decent lunch yet. Went back to the venue for more merch-hunting and photo-snapping, enjoyed the music from anime and J-rock cover bands, and an impromptu photoshoot ensued.
WARNING: Photo-heavy! Snapshots taken from my camera, Ekai's, and Paul's. Credits go to both of you guys.

We arrived home quite late, tired but very happy. 'Twas still loads of fun indeed, and we promise to go again next year with better cosplay, if God permits.
Whew! That's it for now.
See you next con! (^o^)丿
