Rina-chan's Thoughts On: Watsons Deep Cleansing Nose Pore Tape
1:48 PM"Eeep!" I shrieked one day as I looked at the mirror. Not because I got scared of my own reflection (LOL!), but I saw teeny-tiny black and white 'dirt' on my nose. Yep, the dreaded blackheads and whiteheads. I actually don't get much pimples or acne though I have oily skin, but these annoying -heads are my main enemy. And so the quest for a good remover began.
I've been using Saizen's charcoal nose pack (which are pretty okay by the way, if not for the mess), but being the curious cat I am, I wanted to try something else. So I grabbed a box of Deep Cleansing Nose Pore Tape from Watsons on one of my visits to their Alimall branch.
This is your typical white nose patch that you apply by wetting your nose area with water first, then stick the tape, making sure to cover the sides of the nose properly. Do something else for 10-15 mins while waiting, then peel it off. Carefully.
Okay... GROSS ALERT! 'Cause I need to show if it works, right? Please pardon the icky stuff. I'll just leave the photos small, heehee...
Eww... Hahaa!
I like...
...that it's affordable at Php99 per box with 10 sheets.
...that it's easy to use and not messy.
...that it's easily available in Watsons branches.
...the cute enough packaging.
I'm neutral about...
...the scent. It smells like uhm, strong herbal-something. For lack of a better description.
...its effectiveness. It wasn't able to remove all the whiteheads in one go. Though I'd say it's pretty decent.
I don't like...
...the fact that it's only able to remove a bit, almost none, of the blackheads.
...the pain when peeling off the patch. But as they say -- no pain, no gain.

I think this performs better when the pores are open. So you can use steam or wash your face with warm water first, or dab your nose area with a washcloth soaked in warm water. In my case, I wash my face with Baviphat Mango Steam Scrub before using the patch. Then finish with rinsing the face with cold water to help close the pores.
Overall, I think this is still worth a try but not really recommendable. As for me, I'll still continue the lookout for effective blackheads and whiteheads remover.
